Ranchi: The School of Nursing at Usha Martin University organised a one-day Blood Donation Camp, along with free health and eye check-ups, at its campus in Angara. The programme was conducted in collaboration with Orchid Blood Centre under the banner of the Shonit Foundation.
The initiative aimed to encourage voluntary blood donation and strengthen awareness about preventive healthcare among students, faculty members, and staff. The camp received a positive response, resulting in the successful collection of 40 units of blood after proper registration and medical screening, in accordance with standard safety protocols.
As a gesture of appreciation, the Shonit Foundation presented certificates, mementos, and T-shirts to blood donors and volunteers who supported the drive. Their participation played a key role in the smooth conduct of the programme.
In addition to blood donation, the camp extended free general health check-ups to around 115 individuals. Nearly 180 faculty members and students also benefited from complimentary eye examinations conducted during the event.
