Usha Martin University Organises Free Eye Check-up Campin Collaboration with ARAM Eye Hospital

Ranchi, 3 August 2026: Usha Martin University, through its Health Services Committee, organisedaFreeEyeCheck-upCampincollaborationwith ARAMEyeHospital,Irba,Ranchi (A Unit of Medanta Hospital). The first day of the camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff.

The camp received an overwhelming response with more than 90 registrations. Participants underwent comprehensive eye examinations, vision testing, cataract screening, and received expertconsultationandcounsellingfromateamofexperiencedophthalmologists,optometrists, and healthcare professionals from ARAM Eye Hospital. The initiative aims to promote

awarenessabouteyehealthwhileencouragingtheearlydetectionandtreatmentofvision-related disorders.

The programme was witnessed by Prof. Rajni Kant, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjaya Mishra, Pro Vice Chancellor (Academics), Brigadier Sumar Vir Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor (Administration), Dr. Shiv Pratap Verma, Registrar, Dr. Anil Kumar Mishra, Campus Director, Prof. B. N. Sinha, Dean Academics, and Dr. Akansha Anand, Head, Department of Physiotherapy.Thedignitariesappreciatedtheinitiativeandcommendedthecollaborativeefforts of the Health Services Committee and ARAM Eye Hospital in promoting preventive healthcare and the well-being of the University community.

As part of its community outreach initiatives under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), the University will conduct door-to-door eye screening and awareness programmes on 4 August 2026 initsadoptedvillagesofAngara,Narayansoso,Jannum,Childag,andSalhan,extending thebenefitsofqualityeyecarebeyondthecampus.Themedicalteamwillvisitthevillagesto conduct basic eye examinations, identify individuals requiring further treatment, and spread awareness about eye health and preventive care.

The University expressed its gratitude to the medical team of ARAM Eye Hospital for their supportandlooksforwardtothesuccessfulcompletionoftheseconddayoftheprogramme, including the village outreach activities.
