Usha Martin University is organising a five-day Orientation / Deekshaarambh Programme for students admitted to the new academic session from 24 August 2026 to 28 August 2026.The five-day programme will witness the participation of around 1,500 students along with their parents. On the first day, orientation sessions will be conducted for students from the Management, Journalism and Mass Communication, English, Pharmacy, Law, Nursing, and Commerce departments. The second day will focus on students from Computer Science, Agriculture, Engineering, Forensic Science, and Physiotherapy.From the third day onwards, students will be introduced to key aspects of university life through sessions led by experts. These sessions will particularly cover University Rules and Regulations, Sports Facilities, Human Values, Personality Development, and Training and Placement. The programme will conclude on the final day with a cultural programme presented by the newly admitted students.
Addressing the students on the occasion, Pro-Chancellor Prof. Madhulika Kaushik said that students can overcome challenges and achieve success in life through discipline, dedication, and effective time management. She encouraged the students to make maximum use of open learning resources and emphasised that the university is committed to the holistic development of its students. She urged the students to make full use of the facilities and opportunities provided by the university and move towards a bright and successful future.
Officiating Vice-Chancellor, Brigadier Samer Veer Singh, advised the students to attend their classes regularly and actively participate in various competitions organised by the university. He said that such participation would help students develop their skills alongside their academic pursuits.
Registrar Dr. Shiv Pratap Verma urged the students to follow the university’s rules and regulations responsibly and judiciously. He emphasised that discipline and adherence to institutional guidelines are essential for creating a positive and productive academic environment.DSW Dr Jayantika Pal also addressed the students and encouraged them to maintain discipline and enjoy university life.
