The Department of Training & Placement, Usha Martin University, organized an industrial visit to Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) – Rajrappa Project, Rajrappa on 2nd May 2025 for the final year students of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). The objective of the visit was to provide students with real-time exposure to the functioning of a large-scale industrial setup and to help them understand the managerial and operational dimensions of the coal mining industry.
The visit began with a brief introductory session conducted by the industrial representatives of Central Coalfields Limited. The officials provided a detailed overview of coal mining operations, the significance of the Rajrappa Project, and the organizational structure of CCL. Students were introduced to various aspects of coal production, logistics, safety measures, and environmental management practices followed at the site. After the introductory session, students were taken on a guided site tour, where they witnessed the operational zones, equipment in action, and the layout of the mining area. The visit helped students understand the importance of efficiency, planning, risk management, and workforce coordination in a resource-intensive industry like coal mining.
In addition, a student interaction and feedback session was organized, where students had the opportunity to ask questions and share their observations with the company officials. The professionals addressed queries related to supply chain management, human resource practices, safety regulations, and corporate responsibility, giving students a broader view of business operations within an industrial framework.
The visit concluded with a group lunch. The industrial visit proved to be highly informative and an insightful experience with managerial practices in a public sector enterprise. The Department of Training & Placement extends its heartfelt thanks to the management of Central Coalfields Limited, Rajrappa Project, for their warm hospitality and informative sessions.
