On December 4, 2024, a free eye check-up camp was successfully organized by the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell of Usha Martin University (UMU), in collaboration with the Department of Paramedical Sciences. The camp was held at the Panchayat Bhawan in Childag village, aiming to provide essential eye care services to the local community. This initiative was part of Usha Martin University (UMU)’s social initiative. It is in line with the objectives of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, a flagship program of the Government of India aimed at improving the quality of life in rural areas.

The initiative aimed at providing free eye care services to residents, raising awareness about eye health, and identifying common vision-related problems. A team of skilled paramedical staff and eye specialists of Life Care Hospital, Ranchi, conducted comprehensive eye examinations for individuals of all age groups.

Over 47 people attended the eye check-up camp, availing themselves of services such as vision tests, diagnosis of eye ailments, and counseling on maintaining good eye health. The camp was inaugurated by Mukhiya of Childag Village Mr. Durga Pahan and UBA Coordinator Dr. Lopamudra Satapathy. The event was coordinated by Mrs. Sangita Kujur, HoD Paramedical Sciences; Dr. Sunil Kumar; and Mr. Vikas.
