On the occasion of World Health Day, the Department of Nursing at Usha Martin University organized an awareness program in Hesal village on 09/04/2025.

Under the theme “Healthy Beginning, Hopeful Future,” the program primarily focused on maternal care, safe delivery, and infant care.

A poster exhibition presented by the students highlighted the importance of nutrition during pregnancy, timely check-ups, and vaccination. These posters conveyed essential information in simple language with visuals, making it accessible and easy to understand for rural women.

A major highlight of the event was a street play (nukkad natak) performed by the students. Through a family-based story, the play effectively demonstrated how caring for pregnant women, encouraging institutional deliveries, breastfeeding, and newborn hygiene practices contribute to building a healthy society. The performance was not only entertaining but also thought-provoking.

In addition, a health education session was conducted for village women and young girls, offering detailed insights into care during each stage of motherhood, precautions during delivery, and the daily needs of newborns.

This initiative by the Nursing Department not only enhanced health awareness but also fostered a strong bond of trust and communication within the community. The event concluded with positive feedback and active participation from the village women, making the initiative a resounding success.
