Usha Martin University (UMU) and Jharkhand Government Tool Room (JGTR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on March 28, 2025. This collaboration aims to provide students with practical exposure to advanced manufacturing technologies and bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial applications.
The MoU was formally signed by Mr. M.K. Gupta, Principal of JGTR, and Dr. Anil Kumar Mishra, Registrar of UMU, in the presence of Prof. Madhulika Kaushik, Vice Chancellor of UMU, and Prof. B.N. Sinha, Dean Academics.
Under this agreement, JGTR will allow UMU faculty and students to visit its laboratories and manufacturing facilities, providing them with firsthand experience of the latest technologies and global best practices. JGTR will extend its support to students for completing and fabricating their final-year projects by providing necessary facilities, guidance, and mentorship.
JGTR will facilitate skill, technology, and entrepreneurship training for UMU students in consultation with the university. A certification will be issued by JGTR upon successful completion of these training programs, ensuring that students gain industry-recognized credentials. To further strengthen industry-academia collaboration, JGTR will also conduct guest lectures for UMU students on emerging technology trends, helping them stay updated with evolving industry standards.
Both institutions have also agreed to extend their facilities for joint research, project development, and consultancy activities in the field of design and manufacturing. This partnership is expected to significantly contribute to the professional growth of students and enhance their employability in technical and engineering sectors.
