On 25th March 2025, the Department of Forensic Sciences, Usha Martin University, Ranchi organized AVIN’S DAY celebrations at Baitarni Block which was inaugurated by Registrar Dr. Anil Kumar Mishra, Deputy Registrar Leena Shrivastava, Academic Dean Prof. B.N. Sinha and Dean of Student Welfare Dr. Jayantika Pal. The event included several interesting exhibits related to forensic science and biology. The insect display collection showcased around 50 insect species, thereby explaining the importance of forensic entomology. Practical experience of crime scene investigation techniques was given through live crime scene demonstration, while the criminal palmistry section highlighted the relationship between palm patterns and their possible behavioral tendencies. The Zoology Model Display showcased the anatomy and classification of various animal species, while the Cell Organelles and Structures Exhibition presented educational models to explain the complexities of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. The Biometric Model Display was a special attraction, showcasing the role of multi-modal biometric systems in the field of forensic identification and security. In addition, five food stalls were also set up in the event where the participants enjoyed a variety of delicacies. There was enthusiastic participation of students, faculty and guests throughout the event, making it a rich educational and practical experience.
