The IQAC of Usha Martin University organized a week-long Faculty Induction Program (FIP) from October 28 to November 6, designed to welcome and integrate new faculty members into the university’s academic environment. This initiative aims to familiarize new faculty with the institution’s values, culture, teaching-learning strategies, research opportunities, and support systems. This comprehensive program will ensure that new faculty members are well-prepared to contribute effectively to the university’s mission of excellence in education, research, and community service.
The Pro-Chancellor, Prof. S. C. Garg, and the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Madhulika Kaushik, inaugurated the program. They led the sessions on the Fundamentals of NEP 2020 and Technology and Teaching, Learning & Research. Prof. Garg highlighted the importance of NEP and the need for its implementation, discussing the challenges and opportunities it presents. Prof. Madhulika Kaushik emphasized effective teaching-learning methods for faculty members, encouraging them to strive for academic excellence by developing learning outcomes, lesson plans, and expertise in learning management systems. She also pointed out that faculty should consistently engage in research to enhance their teaching and research skills.
The Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Madhu Parhar, spoke about the importance of empathy in the workplace for the holistic growth of the institution, its staff, and students. Registrar Dr. Anil Kumar Mishra informed the faculty about the university’s administrative structure and policies. Dr. Arvind Hans, Dean of Faculty, and Dr. Amir Khusro, Dean of Research, actively coordinated the program. A total of 23 faculty members participated in the program.
