Ranchi, September 18, 2024 – In a commendable initiative aimed at promoting health and wellness in rural communities, the Faculty of Paramedical Sciences at Usha Martin University, in collaboration with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) and the National Service Scheme (NSS), organized a health camp at the Salhan Panchayat Bhawan. The event took place on September 18, 2024, from 11 AM to 2 PM and attracted about 55 villagers from Berwari. The health camp offered a variety of free medical services, including diabetes screenings, hemoglobin tests, blood grouping and other vital parameters. Trained paramedical students were on hand to provide these essential services, ensuring that community members received valuable health assessments. In addition to the medical tests, counseling sessions were held to educate villagers on health management and disease prevention. The event was graced by the presence of local leaders, including Salhan Mukhiya Mrs. Sarita Tirkey and Upmukhiya Mrs. Bimala Choudhury, who expressed their gratitude for the university’s efforts to improve health access in the region. The successful organization of the camp was spearheaded by Dr. Lopamudra Satapathy, UBA coordinator of Usha Martin University, alongside Mrs. Sangita Kujur, Head of the Department of Paramedical Sciences. The Faculty of Paramedical Sciences continues to engage in initiatives that promote the well-being of underserved populations, aligning with its mission to serve society.
