Media Lab Inaugurated at Usha Martin University

Ranchi, March 11, 2022: The newly constructed Media Lab at Usha Martin University’s Department of Journalism and Mass Communication was officially inaugurated by Professor SC Garg, Pro-Chancellor, and Professor Madhulika Kaushik, Pro-Vice-Chancellor. Dr. Madhulika Kaushik praised the Department’s efforts and encouraged students to use the Lab for their courses.

Registrar Dr. Anil Mishra, Deputy Registrar Dr. Leena Srivastava, COE Dr. Vinay Singh, and others, were present at the inaugural ceremony. Dr. Shehnaz Zabi, the Department Head, as well as other academic and student members, also attended the event.

The Usha Martin University’s Media Lab is perhaps the only one of its kind among the universities of Jharkhand. It’s a completely air-conditioned, internet-connected, and Wi-Fi-enabled Media lab with the most cutting-edge audio-video recording technology. The university chose to establish the Lab as a policy to encourage and support film, media studies, and the use of information technology in the teaching and learning process.

In this Media Lab, the trainee journalists will learn about the equipment used in news collection, such as the camera, light, videography, and photography.
