The Faculty of Agriculture and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Usha Martin University, Ranchi, conducted an extension activity at Salhan Village on September 9, 2026 with the participation of approximately 60 farmers. The program is conducted under the supervision of Dr. Sunil Kumar, Head, Faculty of Agriculture and Co-ordinator, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Dr. Vireshwar Kundu, Dr. Rupa Das, Dr. Bela Rani Bhagat, Dr. Bhavna Sharma, Ms. Priya Priyanka Tudu, Mr. Amar Nath Mahto.
The programme focused on creating awareness and disseminating practical knowledge on important agricultural technologies, including Mushroom Production Technology, Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in Rice, Protected Structure Cultivation, the Role of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in Strengthening Collective Action and Rural Prosperity, and Comparative Assessment of Normal Rice and Basmati Rice. The farmers were introduced to improved and sustainable production practices, pest and disease management, protected cultivation techniques, collective marketing and value addition through FPOs, and the quality and market-related differences between rice varieties. The activity provided an interactive platform for farmers to enhance their knowledge, clarify field-level queries, and explore opportunities for improving farm productivity, profitability, sustainable resource use, and rural livelihoods.
