Ranchi, September 2, 2026: The Department of Physiotherapy, Usha Martin University (UMU), Ranchi, successfully organised a two-day hands-on workshop on “Kinesio Taping – Evidence-Based Practice” on September 1 and 2, 2026, at the University Auditorium. The workshop was aimed at providing participants with both theoretical understanding and practical exposure to Kinesio Taping techniques and their clinical applications.

The workshop was conducted by Dr. Vinod Kumar K. C. (PT), PhD, Associate Professor, Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru, who provided comprehensive insights into the principles, techniques, indications, and evidence-based clinical applications of Kinesio Taping. The sessions particularly focused on its application in musculoskeletal and sports-related conditions.

The programme was graced by Hon’ble Officiating Vice Chancellor Brig. (Dr.) Sumar Vir Singh, Registrar Dr. Shiv Pratap Verma, Campus Director Dr. Anil Kumar Mishra, and Dean Academics Prof. (Dr.) B. N. Sinha. Their presence and encouragement added significance to the programme.

A total of 68 participants from across Jharkhand, including BPT students, interns, and practising physiotherapy professionals, participated in the workshop. The hands-on sessions combined interactive learning with practical demonstrations, enabling participants to gain confidence and improve their clinical competence in applying taping techniques.

The participants appreciated the organisation, content, and practical orientation of the workshop and expressed their interest in participating in more such skill-based programmes in the future.

The successful organisation of the workshop reflects Usha Martin University’s commitment to experiential learning, professional skill development, and evidence-based physiotherapy practice.
