About the event:

The Department of Physiotherapy, Usha Martin University, Ranchi, organized an enriching educational visit for students of BPT 1st year & 2nd year to the Anatomical Museum at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi on 16th May 2025. This academic excursion aimed to provide students with practical exposure to human anatomy and deepen their understanding of structural and functional aspects of the human body through direct observation.

Highlights of the Visit:

During the visit, students explored various important sections of the Anatomical Department at RIMS, including:

Dissection Hall:Students witnessed cadaver dissection setups and learned about the techniques and ethical considerations involved in human dissection.

Embryological Museum:This section showcased various stages of human embryological development, offering students a visual understanding of developmental anatomy.

Regional Anatomy Museum:Preserved specimens of different regions of the human body allowed students to correlate theoretical anatomy with real-life structures.

X-Ray Museum:A valuable insight into diagnostic imaging, this section displayed a range of radiographs, helping students understand internal anatomical features through imaging techniques.

Learning Outcomes:

Students gained clarity on the spatial orientation of human anatomical structures. They developed a better understanding of normal versus pathological anatomy. The exposure enhanced their appreciation of human body complexity, which is vital for clinical application in physiotherapy practice.

Conclusion:

The educational visit to RIMS proved to be a highly informative and impactful experience for the students of Physiotherapy. It successfully bridged the gap between theoretical learning and practical exposure, fostering a more integrated approach to anatomical sciences.
