The Usha Martin University, Ranchi, celebrated the 77th Independence Day. Pro Chancellor Prof S C Garg unfurls the National flag, followed by the national anthem. During the programme, Prof S C Garg, Dr Anil Kumar Mishra, Registrar and Prof Himanshu Narayan, Dean Academics, motivated the students and staff with inspirational patriotic speeches. The NSS volunteer performed the parade and was commanded by Hawaldar K K Ranjan, Army Service Core. During the entire independence week, NSS units of UMU organised several cultural events, including a mega tree plantation drive (Meri Maati Mera Desh) on the UMU campus. Also, they initiated a national flag distribution campaign for the special event of “HAR GHAR TIRANGA”, an initiative governed by Govt. of India on the occasion of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. They distributed a hundred flags to the villagers of Usha Martin University’s -adopted villages, Angada, Janum & Narayansoso and made villagers aware of the importance of such an event.
They also organised a rally at adopted villages. The rally continued for a 3 km periphery of the panchayat.
