Usha Martin University Organized ‘Diksharambh’ Program for Incoming Students

Usha Martin University started a four-day ‘Diksharambh’ (student orientation) program for first year students of Department of Pharmacy, School of Pharmacy, Department of Physiotherapy and School of Nursing from 11 August to 14 August 2025. The program aims to familiarize students with the educational culture, facilities and values of the university.

The program began with the traditional lamp lighting, which symbolizes the light of knowledge and dispelling the darkness of ignorance. The welcome address was given by Dr. Roopa Kumari. This was followed by an inspirational address by Vice Chancellor Prof. Madhulika Kaushik. Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Milind, Registrar Dr. Anil Kumar Mishra and Dean Academics Prof. Brij N. Sinha also made the students aware of the vision, excellence and student-centric initiatives of the university.

On the first day, all the Heads of Departments, Controller of Examinations and Deans were introduced. There was a Q&A session with students and parents and the day concluded with the National Anthem.

The next three days saw events such as physical training, yoga sessions, familiarization with ERP system, library introduction, sports activities, Universal Human Values (UHV) sessions and placement guidance. The faculty and student coordinators successfully conducted the event.

Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Jayantika Pal expressed confidence that this orientation programme would help students seamlessly adjust to university life and excel in their academic journey.
