Celebrating ‘Hindi Diwas’ at Usha Martin University!

The students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Usha Martin University, organized a seminar on the occasion of Hindi Diwas. The theme of the seminar was, ‘Journalism and Hindi’.

The seminar was held at Ranchi Press Club, on Tuesday and was presided over by many eminent personalities. Senior journalist Baijnath Mishra, Rajya Sabha MP,  litterateur Dr. Mahua Maji and NDTV editor and writer Priyadarshan participated as chief guest gracing the occasion with their presence.

On September 14’1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted it as India’s official language. Hence, Hindi Diwas is celebrated on the same date every year to spread awareness about the significance of language in our country. ‘Hindi’, is one among the oldest languages in the world with its roots originating from Sanskrit language and written in Devanagari script.

Statistically, Hindi is the most spoken language in the country, with more than 70% people speaking and understanding the language.

The students got a chance to hear the thoughts and ideas of many experienced speakers in the seminar, and also asked many questions, which were promptly answered.
