Ranchi, Aug 25: The Usha Martin University does it again and comes out a winner among the top private universities in Jharkhand by an All-India survey done by Dialogue India Magazine. UMU shares the feat with BIT Mesra.
The other universities lined up in the ranking include Arka Jain University, Amity University, ICFAI University, Jharkhand Rai University, and AISECT University. The ranking has been done on the parameters of infrastructure, innovation & research, courses, faculty involvement, and placements. The universities taken into account are both government and those deemed to be private.
UMU emerges to be on the seventh rank in the east and northeast zone among ten universities. The list of other universities includes BIT, KIT, Shiksha O Ansandhan, Sikkim Manipal University, Xavier University, and Arka Jain University among others.
UMU turns out to be no 1 in a row in Jharkhand by magazine surveys. Earlier at the beginning of the month, UMU was crowned as no 1 among universities in Jharkhand along with ICFAI University according to an All-India survey by Open Magazine.
The parameters taken into account for ranking were legacy, accreditation process, research and academic excellence, campus facilities, infrastructure, personality development, placements and career growth, and co-curricular activities. Out of a score of 1000 points, all the universities were allotted points in the respective areas of the parameter.
UMU was established vide Usha Martin University, Jharkhand Act 2012. University Grants Commission has recognized it as a self-financing Private University authorized to award certificates, diplomas and degrees. It is duly approved by the Pharmacy Council of India and Bar Council of India for professional programs such as B Pharmacy and LLB respectively. It also holds membership in the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
UMU offers a myriad of programs for higher education at both UG as well as PG levels along with Ph. D in Chemistry, Education, Commerce, English, Computer Science, Mathematics, Management, Law, Pharmacy, Journalism and Mass Communication, and Physics. It is noted to be following UGC guidelines to carry out its mandate of providing excellent and inclusive sustainable education at an affordable cost. It is also in conformity with the priorities of the Ministry of Education, Government of Jharkhand.
