UMU Celebrates 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel with Patriotic Fervor

The 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, was celebrated with great respect and enthusiasm across the nation. On this occasion, Usha Martin University (UMU) organized a special program at its Angara Campus to pay tribute to Sardar Patel and to reaffirm the values of unity, integrity, and national solidarity. The event was organized under the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week by the NSS Unit of the University, under the guidance of Dr. Jagesh Kumar Ranjan (NSS Coordinator) and Mr. Shasanka Dev Bhuyan (Program Officer) along with Dr. Shubhro Sekhar Chakraborty (Program Officer). During the ceremony, participants remembered the life and contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and took the Integrity Oath, pledging to uphold honesty, transparency, and the spirit of national unity. The oath-taking ceremony began at 3:00 p.m. with the participation of faculty members, staff, and students. On this occasion, Ms. Madona Mathew and Ms. Ayushi Shilu, along with several faculty members and a large number of students, took part in the oath ceremony, reaffirming their commitment to integrity and nation-building. The program concluded with a heartfelt tribute to the ideals of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the pledge of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” (One India, Great India).
