“Har Ghar Swadeshi” Mission Showcased at Khadi Mahotsav Exhibition in Usha Martin University

Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India is celebrating Khadi Mahotsav on a nationwide level from 17th September to 23rd October, 2025, under which the mission “Har Ghar Swadeshi – Ghar Ghar Swadeshi” is being run to promote indigenous products in the country and to increase the productivity and sales of ‘Khadi’ which is a symbol of our indigenous products and important participation in the freedom movement and to spread this message to the people. Under this program i.e. ‘Khadi Mahotsav’, a one day Mini Exhibition was organized today on 10th October, 2025 at Usha Martin University, Ranchi in collaboration with ‘Adim Jati Samagra Vikas Parishad, Angada, Ranchi’, a Khadi institution under Khadi and Village Industries Commission, State Office, Ranchi. The one day exhibition cum sale program was inaugurated by Prof. Milind, Pro Vice Chancellor, Usha Martin University, Ranchi. The occasion was graced by the august presence of Mr. Mange Ram, Director, Khadi and Village Industries Commission, State Office, Ranchi along with other distinguished guests – Dr. Shiv Pratap Verma, Registrar, Dr. Jayantika Pal, Dean, Professor S.K. Sinha, Dean Academic, Usha Martin University, Ranchi, representatives of District Industries Centre, Ranchi, Secretary, Tribal Welfare Council, Angada, Ranchi, Professors of Usha Martin University, Students, State Office, Khagaria Gramin Bank, Ranchi officials and employees were present.

On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor, Usha Martin University, Ranchi, in his address, stressed on adopting ‘Khadi’ as much as possible in the current context so that today’s young generation can wholeheartedly adopt Swadeshi, which is also the demand of the country at present and the Honorable Prime Minister of the country, Shri Narendra Modi ji has been emphasizing on adopting Khadi. In his brief address, the State Director, KGP, State Office, Ranchi, appealed to the university students and the public present to join the Honorable Prime Minister’s vision of “Vocal for Local” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan” and to take the lead in adopting Swadeshi and realizing the slogan “Swadeshi in every home – Swadeshi in every home.”

Subsequently, the university students, faculty, and all those present took a pledge to adopt Swadeshi. Following this, a large Khadi Yatra was organized around the college with the help of senior college students, in which not only the students but also the general public participated. Following the Khadi Yatra, a quiz competition was held among the children on the topics of “Khadi’s role in India’s independence” and “Mahatma Gandhi’s contribution to Swadeshi.” The students who secured first, second, and third positions in the competition were awarded prizes. The children participated enthusiastically, calling the event a meaningful initiative under the Swadeshi Abhiyan.

A one-day mini exhibition was held on the university campus, in which Khadi, PMEGP, and ODOP units participated, and attendees purchased indigenous Khadi and Village Industries products.
