Ranchi, Jharkhand | April 8, 2026 – The Faculty of Computing and Information Technology in association with Institution Innovation Council at Usha Martin University organised an engaging expert talk on “Recent Trends and Technologies in Artificial Intelligence” on Wednesday, bringing together students and faculty for a focused discussion on the evolving landscape of AI.
The eminent speaker for the session was Dr. Bharat Singh from the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Ranchi. He offered a structured overview of artificial intelligence, beginning with foundational concepts and moving towards advanced areas such as machine learning, deep learning models, natural language processing, and practical applications across industries.
The programme was attended by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Madhulika Kaushik, along with the Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Milind, Dean Academics Prof. B.N. Sinha, and Controller of Examination Dr. Vinay Singh. Their presence underscored the university’s continued emphasis on academic engagement and emerging technologies.
During his address, Dr. Singh explained how artificial intelligence is shaping sectors such as healthcare, education, finance, and cybersecurity. He also drew attention to the growing importance of ethical practices in AI development, noting that innovation must remain aligned with responsibility and inclusivity.
The session saw active participation from students and faculty members, with discussions focusing on current industry expectations, career pathways, and essential technical skills. An interactive question-and-answer segment allowed participants to seek clarity on specific areas and engage directly with the expert.
