Usha Martin University marked Constitution Day on 26 November 2025 with a programme organised by the Faculty of Legal Studies in collaboration with the NSS unit. The event was held in the Moot Court Hall and focused on strengthening constitutional awareness and encouraging students to examine the foundations of India’s democratic system.
The programme opened with the reading of the Preamble. Faculty members and students took the oath together, which served as a reminder of the nation’s commitment to justice, liberty, equality and fraternity.
A courtroom trial presentation on gender equality formed the central academic activity of the day. Students from the Faculty of Legal Studies and the Department of Forensic Science presented a structured moot trial that illustrated the constitutional guarantee of equality before the law and the bar on gender-based discrimination. The session allowed students to apply legal reasoning to a contemporary issue and to demonstrate their advocacy skills.
The Vice Chancellor addressed the gathering and spoke about the role of constitutional rights in safeguarding democratic life. She encouraged students to develop a sustained interest in civic and legal learning and commended their participation in the activities.
The Pro Vice Chancellor delivered a brief address and explained the importance of studying the Constitution as a foundation for understanding governance, democracy and the legal framework of the country.
The event was also attended by the Registrar, Dean Academics and the Campus Director. The observance of Constitution Day at Usha Martin University offered students a practical introduction to constitutional principles and reinforced their responsibilities as future members of the legal profession.
