UMU Journalism Students Explore Science Communication at Bariyatu Science Centre

On March 7, 2025, BAJMC students from Usha Martin University visited the Science Centre in Bariyatu as part of their Science and Technology Communication course. The visit aimed to enhance their understanding of how science communication simplifies complex concepts for the public. Coordinated by Dr. Shahnaaz Zabi, Head and Mr. Amit Kumar, Faculty member of Faculty of Journalism and Mass communication, 20 students explored interactive exhibits on space, physics, biology, and environmental science. The visit also highlighted the role of science museums, science centers, and science cities in fostering scientific temper and promoting scientific understanding among the masses. The concept of scientific temper was introduced by Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, who emphasized rational thinking, inquiry, and the application of science for societal progress.
