Childag, January 3, 2025 — In an initiative aimed at supporting the elderly during the harsh winter months, the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Cell of Usha Martin University organized a blanket distribution program at the Childag Village Panchayat Bhawan on January 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM. The event, attended by a large number of senior citizens from the village, began with a briefing from Mr. Durga Pahan, the Mukhiya of Childag. Mr. Pahan spoke about the critical steps to be taken to safeguard the elderly during the winter season. He emphasized the importance of warm clothing, proper nutrition, and precautions against common winter-related health issues, particularly for the geriatric population. He also reminded the community about the significance of offering care and attention to older adults in times of severe weather conditions. Following the briefing, members of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell, including Dr. Lopamudra Satapathy, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Dr. Jagesh Ranjan, Dr. Rupa Kumari, Mrs. Sangita Kujur, and Dr. Bireshwar Kundu, distributed blankets to the elderly villagers, ensuring they would have sufficient warmth during the cold winter nights. A total of 30 blankets were handed out, making a positive impact on the lives of the elderly residents of Childag.
