Five Day Faculty Induction Program at UMU

Usha Martin University has organized a five-day induction program for the newly appointed teaching staff. Honourable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Madhulika Kaushik inaugurated the program. The program’s primary objective is to provide faculty members with a comprehensive understanding of the University’s values, pedagogical practices, organizational processes and professional development pathways, as well as an insightful glimpse of the University’s vision and mission, academic culture and support services available. The program also aspires to pave the way for seamless integration of the faculties into the academic milieu.

The University believes that teachers are the cornerstone of academic excellence innovation and instrumental for student empowerment. Through this induction programme, we seek to enable our faculty to align their educational philosophies and pedagogical approaches with the University’s mission, thus fostering an environment of academic rigour and inclusivity. Furthermore, we aim to establish a sense of camaraderie and collaboration among our faculty members, encouraging a vibrant intellectual community that thrives on collective wisdom and shared goals.

We are excited about this induction journey and confident that it will set a strong foundation for a fruitful and rewarding tenure for each faculty member, ultimately contributing to the overarching goal of advancing knowledge and transforming lives through Education at Usha Martin University.

On day one, while interacting with the participants, the Vice Chancellor discussed the University’s teaching and research commitment. She told the faculty members how to improve their teaching and research using open resources. The honourable Pro-Chancellor, Prof. SC Garg, took the second session and discussed the New Education Policy and related essential information. In the third and final session, Registrar Dr Anil Kumar Mishra gave information about the university administration and its policies. He also talked about the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system the University runs and its academic contribution.
