Usha Martin University started its new academic session with a spirited two-day orientation program that set the stage for a promising educational journey. The event was a hive of activity, bringing together eager students and their supportive parents; 600 students marked their presence.
This orientation’s inaugural day saw students from diverse academic backgrounds gather to embark on their educational voyage. Nursing, Agriculture, Health Science, Pharmacy, and Forensic Science enthusiasts came together to get a comprehensive introduction to the university’s ethos and opportunities. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation and excitement as these young minds took their first steps into higher education.
The ceremonial inauguration of the program was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Pro-Chancellor Prof. SC Garg, Vice Chancellor Prof. Madhulika Kaushik, Registrar Dr. Anil Kumar Mishra, and Dean Academics Prof. Himanshu Narayan. They symbolically lit the lamp.
Pro-Chancellor Prof. SC Garg set the tone for the event by sharing insights into the university’s academic accomplishments and operational framework. His words provided a sense of pride and motivation for the incoming students. Vice Chancellor Prof. Madhulika Kaushik encouraged the students to make the most of the university’s state-of-the-art facilities, such as the e-library and open resources, for their holistic development. She also highlighted implementing an ERP system, which ensures students receive assignments, quizzes, practicals, and e-notes from day one, enabling them to optimize their learning journey without wasting precious time.
Registrar Dr Anil Kumar Mishra talked about the campus security and discipline guidelines. He emphasized the importance of cultivating self-discipline and how the university fosters its students’ leadership qualities, team spirit, and problem-solving abilities.
Dean Academic Prof. Himanshu Narayan laid out the attendance rules, stressing that students must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance to be eligible for end-semester examinations. Dr. Jayantika Pal, the Dean of Students Welfare, provided valuable insights into the various student-centric programs designed by the university to enhance the overall experience.
The Placement Officer, Dr. Priyanka Pallavi, also addressed the audience, imparting crucial information regarding placement opportunities and career prospects awaiting the students in the near future.
Later, the department heads also briefed the students on their respective fields of study. The engagement of these educators offered a glimpse into the depth and breadth of knowledge that awaits the incoming students.
